RE: Getting Bored with Verizon Phones

You can see the coverage map on AT&T's web site.
I have an iphone with AT&T and Verizon phones. We are full-times and have found that the coverage is very close (in our experience). If I had to make a call, I would say that Verizon has slightly better coverage. We have had both Verizon and AT&T from Maine to Florida, across to Arizona and California and up to Oregon. It is very close to call. I don't know about the air cards because I don't use them, but I know that I have sent e-mail from the iphone all across the country.
Hopefully this is of some use to you.

RE: Internet Access

We are full-timers and simply use the wi-fi at the campgrounds. We are very rarely without internet. Sometimes the signal is low, but we have a C Crane Super USB antenna and it get service when we can't get a good signal from the internal antenna.

RE: HAVE TO ASK

We are hanging on until it turns. It always turns and it always will. The problem with living off of the market is that you have highs and lows.
During the highs we move around a lot, buy things, eat out, etc.
During the lows we sit still longer, eat out less, buy less and hang on for better times ahead.
Typically bear markets last 18 months or less, so the hard times are very hard but in the long haul are short.

RE: Mac Users - need a photo program

We use Aperture on our iMac and really like it.
We also have a powerbook on which we use Photoshop Elements and have enjoyed using it as well.
If I had to choose, I would choose Aperture.

RE: carlsbad caverns

We really like the KOA.
White City, at least when we were there, would not even be a consideration in my opinion - run down.

RE: Wintering in California?

We are wintering on the Southern Oregon Coast, so California is certainly doable.

RE: Grand Canyon

You can type "Grand Canyon National Park" into Google and find the National Park Service page for the Grand Canyon. It will tell you this plus a lot more.

RE: Movin View Dish

All the ones I've seen, including mine, require you to change the setting on the dish itself. In my case it is a set of switches that have to be set. The are inside the dome on the side of the controller.
Your manual should show you where it is and what to change the settings to.

RE: How long should Walk thru at dealership take for inspecting?

When we picked up our new 5er several years ago, they spent an hour or more going through everything with us, then we stayed on their lot in the camper overnight and we went back through things we noticed overnight with them.

RE: Digital box

If you are referring to the digital TV standard in 2009, then it does not have any effect on Satellite or cable TV. You need nothing additional.

RE: question about KOA!

The deposit is applied to the cost of your stay. You don't pay a deposit in addition to your campground fees.
That is the way it has always been at the KOA's at which we have stayed - all over the country.

RE: Doom and Gloom!

Every time the markets take a big correction, the general sentiment is that the days of free spending are over. When the market turns again, everyone will be buying again. It's a market cycle and happens over and over again.
The sky has been falling many times in the past 10 years and money has been flowing like crazy several times in the past ten years. And so it goes.

RE: MP3 volume

"Setting Songs to Play at the Same Volume Level
iTunes can automatically adjust the volume of songs, so they play at the same relative
volume level. You can set iPod classic to use the iTunes volume settings.
To set iTunes to play songs at the same sound level:
1 In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences if you’re using a Mac, or choose
Edit > Preferences if you’re using a Windows PC.
2 Click Playback and select Sound Check, and then click OK. "

RE: Using Public Libraries

We do it all the time. Some places make you pay a fee for the card and some won;t allow it at all, but a lot of them do.
Also, we utilize the used bookstores (trade-in), and the book swap libraries at the campgrounds as well.

RE: Ipod I touch 8gb or 16gb 2nd gen.

You cannot add memory to an ipod, but you can use less than is available.
If you can afford it, get the largest memory.
